Chaos Invaders

Chaos Invaders is a flash game with a very familiar theme. Fortunately, it changes very quickly into something new and refreshing. The stylishly pixelated invaders fall from the sky for you to catch and shoot back up at their allies. Boss battles use the same mechanic, but the boss crumbles into the pieces you can fire back up at him. It’s really worth the time to check out.

Dogfighter on Sale for $1.50

I totally forgot to post this the other day. Dogfighter is on sale on Steam for $1.50. You cannot beat that price.

Dogfighter is a 3d third person arena airplane combat game. There are a handful of maps with tons of different weapons and power ups. The developers have been very community focused and added many community requested features. Definitely worth the try, I mean, what else are you going to spend $1.50 on? A candy bar? Oh please.

Solipskier is a quite refreshing play; sorta like Linerider meet Excitebike . Your goal is to create the slope for your skier and guide him through hoops and tunnels. Watch out for the red ones those…you stop creating a slope for the few seconds you pass it.

So this was a very interesting find. Echoes is a combination of the beloved classic Asteroids and XBL hit, Geometry Wars. Or as the web site states, “Yeah, it’s a bit like Asteroids hyperactive, drug crazed brother displayed in blur-o-vision and viewed through psychedelic sunglasses in a cheap nightclub.”

I had to configure the default settings before I was able to play because it was set to the awkward controls mouse for movement and WASD for firing. After reversing the controls, I found my self in a pretty easy asteroids-like game. But it got hectic once there were 20+ asteroids bouncing off the sides of the screen instead of warping to the other side like the original Asteroids. The asteroids even eventually take on some AI and start following you around. The purple ones are your basic free flying rocks, but other colors charge after you or chase you down.

I’d definitely pick this one up if your looking for a fresh remake of Asteroids. Or can’t afford a copy of Geometry Wars.
