Super Mario Crossover

Super Mario Crossover is quite a unique game. You can pick from any of the characters seen in the image above (Samus, Mario, Link, etc) and play through a Mario themed world with that character’s powers. It’s quite fun and a refreshing take on the classic plat-former. Definitely worth a try.

Since my move, I’ve had to deal with constant heat up in my room and unfortunately my computer can’t put up with the heat as much as I can. This leaves me with a limited time to get things done, early mornings and late evenings when the weather is cooler. So this are progressing a lot more slowly than I would have liked. I had planned to wrap up ZTD in a week, but it seems it has more life than what I thought and I probably won’t get to the new game before the GM competition deadline. I’ve also been really indecisive with ZTD, I’ve changed the sprites so many times and I’m thinking about just going back to my pixel art rather than the simple flash art. It just looks so much like programmer art. I hate it. So I’ll probably be spending a few days drawing some new sprites and then get back on track. So far, I just need to get the power-up and equipment systems in place and all the core features are done. Besides a couple little things I want to add, I’ll be able to get an build out to the public and see if anyone even LIKES the game. Ha ha. But even if it is a failure, I just learned what isn’t fun and I have a whole lifetime to create plenty more games.

Hello Worlds!

June 18, 2010 Leave a comment

Hello Worlds! is a nifty little flash platform game, available on the Armor Games portal. It sports a rewind system (mmm Briad. =]) as well as something I haven’t seen before; well I don’t know what to label it…the environment in each world effects all of the instances of the player creating some pretty mend bending levels. Thankfully, there is a combine all worlds feature so you can see everything in one. (But you cant move while holding the key! That would be too easy) This one is definitely worth trying out.

The trailer for Portal 2 is now available! It was also announced that it will be available on the PS3, 360, and PC. The Ps3 version will be the first console sporting the ‘steamworks’ software similar to Steam on the PC/Mac. Looks like Valve is really pumping it out right now. First a Mac release, then console, soon Portal 2?!

[lonely pixel news]Game Updates

So since the end of High School (Yay!) I’ve been working diligently on my games. Mainly focusing on ZTD because I want it out ASAP, at least a beta version for the public to test. I’ve finally added a dedicated page for ZTD with information and what not that you can find here.

Secretly I’ve also been working on another game. (Gasp! It cannot be true?!) Since summer is here and its my last summer before college, I want to get some COMPLETED games into my portfolio. So I’ve decided to enter in some competitions. Currently I’m working on an entry with a friend for the Game Maker Competition 06. We already have a solid idea and are testing some elements that we would like to see in the finished product. Here’s sneak peak:

Doesn’t that just leave you wanting more? Guess you’ll have to stick around. ;]
